| De origen andaluz, este villancico es uno de los más populares en el mundo hispánico. Hay una tercera estrofa, pero como está prevista la crucifixión de Jesucristo, suele cantarse poco. En vez, se repite la primera estrofa con frecuencia. El arreglo que se publica aquí © 2005 es de Gildardo Suárez Bernal (colombiano, n. 1967). No se sabe quién hizo la traducción al inglés [«Bells over Bethlehem»]. Este canto es el número 44 de Las voces del camino, pero con otro arreglo. |
| Of Andalucian origin, this Christmas carol is one of the most popular in the Hispanic world. There exists a third verse, but since it fortells Jesus's crucifixion, it is not often sung. Instead, the first verse is frequently repeated. The arrangement published here © 2005 is by Gildardo Suárez Bernal (Colombian, b. 1967) . The author of the English translation ["Bells over Bethlehem"] is unknown. This is hymn number 44 in Las voces del camino, but with a different arrangement. |
